Under the theme "Travel," photographers could participate in the "Single Image" and "Series" categories.
My small travel photo series became runner-up in the Dutch section of the competition. The series was published in connection with the contest, along with a short article in the Dutch photography magazine FOCUS issue #3/2026.

“This series approaches the theme of travel from a different perspective and a different context. The photos show travel in relation to all everyday situations and daily life. Instead of beautiful landscapes, monuments, busy airports or train stations, or people in a folkloric setting, which are normally associated with travel and travel photography, here you see trams, rickshaws with their passengers and drivers, buses, river ferries, or the nighttime view from above of the endless stream of lights from
cars and buses in an urban context. Everything is in motion in one way or another. The photos were taken in Kolkata (India), Narail and Dhaka (Bangladesh), and Taipei (Taiwan) during working stays.
Generally, for this type of photo, I do not plan fixed series and I do not focus on one specific subject or theme in advance.” •
