Two and a half workshops + an artist talk

Two and a half workshops + an Artist talk

As part of my project "Empty Times – Empty Space" at Faber Andorra, between October 7 and 21, 2025, I conducted a social sculpture workshop, a land art workshop, and an artist talk that included two activities from the social sculpture workshop.

The talk and workshop were supported by Sandra Colell, project manager at Faber Andorra, Faber Andorra and the Andorran government.

No. 1 Social Sculpture for children - 07/10/2025

Social Sculpture in the park

In the late afternoon of October 7, I led a Social Sculpture workshop for a group of 10- to 11-year-old schoolchildren. After each exercise, the children discussed their experiences. The schoolchildren participated in an after-school art activity program run by schools. The workshop took place in the Parc Central beside the Government Exhibition Hall in Andorra La Vella.

No. 2 Land Art in the Forests - 17/10/2025

On October 17, I led a Land Art workshop for elementary school students aged 6-7 at the British College in Andorra la Vella. After a short, child-friendly introduction to Land Art, the workshop took place in the forest next to the school. The students worked largely independently. But it was one of those rare moments where one student used a natural object—in this case, a stone—as a carving tool while another created a moving installation. There was also a very long piece of rope, which I initially wanted to cut into small pieces. But then I decided against it. Because a large group of students needed to learn to work together while simultaneously exploring the space. The Workshop was part of my project in Andorra

No 3  A slightly different approach to art - 21/10/2025

At the initiative of Anna Gabriel Vinolas, a teacher at the Centre de Formació al Llarg de la Vida, a state-run adult education center in Andorra la Vella, I gave an artist talk and performed excerpts from the "Social Sculpture" workshop on October 21, 2025. It was a form of art in the classroom for one of her English conversation classes. A large portion of the participants were school teachers and professionals from different fields. The goal was to listen to and view art from a different perspective by adding an interactive section and an artist talk. The artist talk focused on a topic related to my mental health and hearing problems and how these affect my artistic vision and work as an artist, and conversely, how art affects my disabilities. It also provided an opportunity to discuss and explore a topic in an English conversation class that differed from the usual textbook and conversation exercises. I conducted two short social sculpture exercises with the group in the nearby Central Park of the capital. This was followed by the artist talk, which was a version of my previous artist talk, which I gave earlier this year as part of the "Deserters" project at the Oriel Y Bont Gallery of the University of South Wales. This was the third and final public event in association with my Empty Times - Empty Spaces project at Faber Andorra.
