Ode aan Linge - 9053 or Hidden

9053 or Hidden

The title of the work refers to its location. A simple, minimalist land art installation set away from the main paths of the garden. The work takes a philosophical approach to this year's Ode aan de Linge theme, "Sensory Landscape." Much in nature and our everyday lives often remains hidden or unnoticed. The chosen location reminds us to use our ability to search and discover. The work itself represents the philosophical ideas of simplicity, purity, and sobriety. But it also tells us something about how fragile everything around us is and how closely connected it is. Stones, particularly in Zen philosophy, are more than just a decorative element. They carry deep symbolic meanings, ranging from the search for balance and inner harmony to a reminder of the transience of life. The stones in this installation are a symbol of mindfulness and the connection with our surroundings and ourselves. Autobiographical elements also appear in this installation. They reference my past as a sculptor working with stone. There's also a connection to my psychological problems and the search for orderly elements. The choice of location metaphorically reflects my increasingly intense longing to turn away from this world and master life's path with serenity and courage.
